What we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to everyone who visits lawclerk.legal, whether or not you have a LAWCLERK account. It covers what happens when you browse the site, read our resources, book a demo, or send us your details through a form.
Information you give us. When you book a demo, join a waitlist, download a resource, or contact us, we collect what that form asks for. Typically that is your name, email address, phone number, firm or role, and anything you choose to write in a message field.
Information about how you reached us. If you arrive from an advertisement, an email, or a campaign link, the tracking details in that link are recorded along with your submission so we know which campaign brought you to us.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived. We use analytics and marketing tools to collect this.
Information from our emails. Emails we send may contain a tracking pixel that tells us whether the email was opened and which links were clicked. You can prevent this by disabling images in your email client.
Information from other sources. We may supplement the information you provide with business contact details obtained from third-party data providers and from publicly available professional profiles, so that our records are accurate and complete.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, such as government identification numbers, financial account numbers, or health information, through this website. Please do not include such information in a message field. Payments are not processed through this website.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, to remember your preferences such as light or dark mode, to understand how the site is used, and for marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Third parties, including Google and Salesforce, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site.

We are located in the United States and process information here. Contact and marketing records are stored with Salesforce on servers located in the United States, and website analytics and scheduling data are held by Google and Calendly, respectively. Those providers and their sub-processors may access information from other countries in order to provide support and maintain their services. If you visit this site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and improving our business, the steps necessary to enter into a contract with you, and compliance with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use third-party analytics and advertising tools that may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some state laws. You can opt out as described under “Your choices and rights.”
Some content on our pages, such as embedded videos and scheduling tools, is served by other companies. When a page containing them loads, your browser contacts those companies directly and they receive your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
We process information in the United States. Our providers and their sub-processors may access it from other countries in order to support and maintain their services. Where data protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
We keep contact and marketing records in Salesforce for as long as we operate our business, including after you stop interacting with us, so that we can maintain a complete record of our communications, honor your marketing opt-out, and respond to legal or regulatory requests. We do not delete these records as a matter of routine. If you unsubscribe from marketing, we keep your contact information on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again. If you ask us to delete your information and we are legally required to do so, we will honor that request as described under “Your choices and rights.”
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email we send. We will keep your contact information on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to receive it in a portable form, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent you have given, and to request its deletion. Deletion rights are subject to exceptions that permit us to retain information, including to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to maintain a record of your opt-out. Where no law requires us to delete your information, we may instead suppress your record so that it is not used for marketing.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our site links to other websites, including articles and resources we did not write. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
This site is intended for legal professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new policy on our site and revise the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
